Oral Health Therapist
Dominique is an Oral Health Therapist at Beyond Dental with a strong interest in preventive care, periodontal health and helping patients develop a more positive relationship with dentistry. Patient experience is particularly important to her, and she takes pride in creating an environment where people feel comfortable, supported and engaged in looking after their oral health.
After completing her Bachelor of Health Science (Oral Health) at Auckland University of Technology in 2018, Dominique began her career in Warkworth, Auckland, before relocating to the Bay of Plenty. She went on to work across three dental practice locations in Tauranga, building experience in dental hygiene, periodontal disease management and preventive and restorative care for children under 18, before joining Beyond Dental in 2024.
Dominique’s training and clinical experience span preventive oral health care, periodontal management and dental care for younger patients.
“Patient care and experience is not only a priority, but a passion of mine. I pride myself in changing patients’ negative perceptions of dentistry to something they value and enjoy.” – Dominique
Dominique has particular interests in periodontal disease management, dental hygiene, patient education and preventive care, and preventive and restorative dentistry for children under 18.
One of the most rewarding aspects of her work is seeing patients recognise improvements in how their mouth feels and in their overall oral health. Dominique enjoys being part of that progress and helping patients develop the knowledge and confidence to maintain their oral health over time.
Outside of work, Dominique keeps busy with her two young daughters and enjoys spending time at the beach, in the bush or at the park, usually with a coffee in hand.
Horses have also been a big part of Dominique’s life. She once rode track work and, before pursuing oral health, had her sights set on becoming an equine dentist.
